leeave96 488 #1 Posted September 26, 2013 OK - so I mentioned in another post that my Brother is looking for a garden tractor for camp duty mowing - read lots of mowing. Trailer will likely be 5 ft wide. He is inclined to go with a 54 inch deck and squeeze it onto the trailer. 60 inch deck won't fit. In as much as Wheelhorse never made a 300, 400 or 500 series or C series tractor with a 54 inch deck, he is inclined to rule out a Wheelhorse - not good! My question is - can anyone comment on 54 vs 48 inch decks and tell me if the additional 6 inches is a big deal or not and what your impressions of using a Wheelhorse with a 48 inch deck as compared to a tractor with a 54 inch deck that you also might have used while mowing.
