wh79d160 52 #5 Posted September 21, 2013 10 hours of driving, 550 miles, $200.00 plus in fuel & I got her home. I'm real happy w/it. The tiller is very nice too. It's been doing a lot of sitting. That red dust is every where. It's getting a good cleaning. It won't run too long before it dies. Inside the gas tank was NASTY. The screen on the shut off was 90% clogged. Couldn't get it opened up w/a whole can of carb cleaner, so I'm getting a new one tomorrow. Pulled the tank & got it cleaned out w/3 cans of brake clean. replaced all the fuel lines. The float on the sending unit in the tank had fuel in it. Not sure how I'm going to fix that yet. Hopefully I can get the stuff I need tomorrow & get it put back together & post some pics, It doesn't have a scratch or a ding on it. not a fan of the RD deck on the hydro. The little mowin I did do, I could see were the hydro fan blade was suckin grass thru it & it gets stuck around the hydro, fuel tank ect. I think it would work good on my 417-8 though. The story is , it was orderd for a cemetery to mow around headstones, obviously, hence the 42" deck. The cemetery went bankrupt b4 the 520 was delivered & the state took the cemetery over. The dealer kept it on display until he retired in 2008 or 9, sold it to a friend of his who gave it to his son in 2010. The son used it one season, bought a zero turn & it sat until a few weeks ago. got all the manuals w/it. Someone obviously studied it. The majority of it is highlighted w 4 different colors of highlighter. There are notes written in it like" for hydo filter us John Deere part # am ??????, its a better filter that WH" & it does have a JD hydro filter on it. So w/25 or 86 hours, seller said 4yr old son left key on for 3 days, the sellers dad, I assume, felt the need to change all the fluids & service it, sense it was sitting in the shop for such a long time, which I would have done also & will probably do again soon . Thank you to our local member who posted the CL find. I've been dreaming about a find like this for a long time. I know there probably aren't many left like that.

wh79d160 52 #8 Posted September 21, 2013 Ken, Not sure the year, I haven't run the # yet. PO thought it was a 94. I won't be using it for much. Visit the neighbors every once in a while, maybe pull the lawn sweeper on occasion. Take it to shows w/the tiller on it. The tiller has a little paint scraped off the tines.Probably just touch them up.I have a beater tiller just like it I use all the time. Probably do a restore on it this winter. brandonozz 168 #9 Posted September 21, 2013 Tom, I'm glad someone from here grabbed it up. While not in the market for another WH right now, that tractor got my attention and definately made me think about it seriously. Something like that just doesn't come around that often...... especially here in Oklahoma. Hope it lives up to your dreams.
wh79d160 52 #10 Posted September 21, 2013 I usually have to go north , north east. Not much around here either. I normally don't even check Clngs south of me. Tyson,Shubox lover(he actually likes Mopars) keeps an eye out for me. But he didn't bother to mention this one. Maybe he gave up after sending me so many leads that i passed on. Got parts today. Will try to get it back together tomorrow. Thanks again for letting us know about the listing,
