flyovrcntry 115 #1 Posted September 20, 2013 I am looking at a 416H,and was wanting some advice. So far I have only seen one pic and it looks like it has been sitting out for awhile.By awhile I mean th seat is not trashed, but you can see a couple splits and has that dull look.It doesn't show any rust on the hood so I am thinking it hasn't sat out too long yet. What I want is a tractor to mow and push snow.I have about an acre to mow ,and about 70 ft of gravel drive.I have a neighbor with some health issues so I mow their approx 1 acre about 1/2 the time.Plush I push their snow. I would like to know,do I need the extension bracket for the dozer blade ? They say the tractor runs good and the sheet metal looks good from the picture. The tractor looks pretty straight, not beat up. Would you say a tractor like that is worth 500. It has the 48" deck and no other attachments.
leeave96 490 #2 Posted September 20, 2013 My feeling is that any tractor (unless it is just a special tractor for whatever reason) ain't worth $300 minimum unless it can start, run and drive under it's own power onto my trailer. This tractor has been setting outside, which isn't good, but not a deal killer either by any stretch. If you like the tractor, $500 may not be bad. Maybe you can talk down the owner to $400 or less. Good luck, Bill
dbartlett1958 99 #3 Posted September 20, 2013 I have a 416H as well. It is not pretty, but it will work. I have a 42 inch RD deck, and a 42 inch single stage snowblower, as well as a tiller and mid mount grader blade. I have never plowed with my 416, but it will really blow snow. It is by far my favorite thing with this machine. That Onan motor really likes to work in the snow. If it has had good oil service and decent cart, $500 is not too much, but as Bill says, offer less and see what happens.
Wheel-N-It 2,976 #4 Posted September 20, 2013 I bought my 416-8 (kohler k341) shed kept and not run in five years for $500. I knew the man who owned it, and I knew he had not abused it because he always took good care of anything he owned. It came with a 42" SD Deck, and a Push Blade. It took the better part of a day to get it running and tuned. It certainly was worth it in the end. This is a photo of it before I got it running so you will know what I started with for $500 bucks. joedodge1 0 #5 Posted September 27, 2013 Wheel-in-it, might I ask what model snowblower you have for your 416-8? I just picked one up for myself and wanted it mostly for snow throwing..Thanks in advance.

It does not ever snow enough here to warrant buying a blower.
