tomtractor 71 #1 Posted September 16, 2013 My throttle cable retracts every time I accelerate. When I accelerate it slowly moves to idle. I can't do much with the tractor on idle. Any suggestion for keeping the throttle on high? The throttle cable is secure and not flopping around. Maybe WD40? Are there any tricks. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Just to clarify (details stolen from one of my earlier posts, but I can't take credit for the idea): Try squeezing the pivot point/rivet with vise grips. See if the throttle stays where it should, and if not, tighten the vise grips and try it again, shouldn't take much more than that. C-85 768 #9 Posted September 18, 2013 Hi Folks, This is how I remidied this problem. I guess I was too lazy to take the throttle cable out and do it the right way. So I built this handle out of an old stainless steel antena that I had. I can just move it to hold the throttle all the way up when I need it.
