Toro\WH 208-4 and 212-5 (Onan)

Hey Guys,

 

I am not too familiar with the ToroWH line of GT's.  There is a guy selling 2 Toro WH tractors.  A 208-4  (Briggs) with a deck and grass catcher and also a 212-5 with the onan engine in it which also has a deck.  He says both tractors were running and need carb work.

He wants 300 for the pair. Also says tires are all good and machines are in clean shape.  I have not seen them as of yet in person. Is it worth looking at these 2 machines at that price?

I like the older machines and I am not at all familiar with the newer stuff.

Those are more of a lawn tractor than a garden tractor in my opinion since they are designed mostly to cut grass.  There's nothing wrong with them for their purpose.  I prefer the garden tractors in the 300-500 series because they are "newer" by wheel horse standards and very tough (not that the older garden tractors aren't also tough).  

 

What were you looking to do with a future tractor?  Mowing or adding plow, snowblower, rototiller, scraper, moldboard, etc.?

Cutting grass would be fine. Not looking to add any additional attachments.  Not sure i need any additional machines, was just wondering if it was a good price to grab them or if they come a dime a dozen at that price.

I don't think they are among the desirable wheel horse tractors but $150 each for a running grass mower doesn't sound that bad either(IF there aren't any major issues).

Think i may pass on them. I will give the guy another call and try to find out some more history on them. Maybe offer 100 each
