got fire to breath in her belly

So since my 854 needs work done to the engine and it seemed to have the same carb and fuel pump as well as coil that was needed for the 702 i swapped the parts out today and this night when my dad got home we put gas in her choke is stuck open so had to hand choke it but on the second turn over she purred oh so sweetly for us. my dad took her for a test drive with shotty tires that will be getting replaced with new rubber and all i can say is another goner lives againe in the rustbucket herd.

also mounted the H-60 into its proper home under the hood of my 653 but haveing oh so slight clearance issues on the air intake i used also the fuel tank isnt hard mounted just yet so with some tinkering might gain that extra little hair i need to clear the air cleaner houseing.

Keep in mind that the model 653 uses a flat air filter housing and not the can type as used with other H-60 Tecumseh powered Wheel Horses.

well i guess ill be looking for one of those at next years show or if someone has one they are willing to part ways with for a reasonable price.

This airfilter assembly used on a model 653 is a Kohler part (even though the tractor is Tecumseh powered) and still avaible BUT not cheap and it does not look the same. Look for one at the show.

hey bill since your going to be at the show in 09 wanna give a learner a hand in roaming the parts coaral?? you know what to look for more then i do. and it would be greatly apreciated.

hey bill i feel like an idiot now. poked around my garage and looked at all the other air cleaner assemblies laying around and it was looking me right in the face and i never realized it. i do have the small shallow pan kohler air cleaner assembly off another round nose thats apart for um valve work so it went onto the 653 instead and looks good. just needs the metal streightened and the shell painted to match the engine its now on.
