Any recomendations for replacing gasket on a 1054 carb?  Kohler 10 Horse.

Any old gasket?  Or do I need a special one?   Just want to get it right the first time....

:WRS:   You can buy a sheet of gasket material at Tractor Supply or NAPA and make your own, then save the leftover material for other needs.

:help:   Just read you other post. I figured you were wanting a carb mounting gasket, not so. From what you are telling it sounds like the needle and seat are not shutting off the fuel flow. you can get good rebuild kits on ebay or most good lawn equipment shops, I think NAPA sells them too.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks again guys.  Found one specifically for a Kohler 10 Horse 241 on Amazon and went ahead and ordered it.  I'm assuming it'll make a heck of a difference!  Did I mention I'm already getting addicted to this tractor.

I've got to get an air filter for it too.  I just realized that the air filter is missing.

Any advice on air filters?  The carb has an air filter mount? on it already, looks like it's aiming down towards the ground.  I saw a few air filters for sale on ebay for about 25.00 bucks.  Does that seem like a reasonable price?  Rather not get ripped-off if I can help it.

Thanks again.   Looking forward to getting it running and using the plow this winter.

The original air cleaner would have been an oil bath type, a bit hard to come by but they do come up on ebay from time to time. Not only on wheel horse but others so you may want to do a search for "oil bath air cleaner" and see what comes up. You will probably see a photo of one in the gallery section of this site under tractors befor 1965. A later model paper filter could be bolted up to the carb. if you wanted to.

As for the addiction, can't help you there;  We all are!  :ROTF:    :laughing-rolling:   :text-lol:

Go to the "Manuals" section of this site and go to 1963 953 # 123, open it and you can see the proper air cleaner on page 2.

Good luck.
