did the early pto's have problems with slippage?

did the early 800 series pto's have issues with slippage, etc?   I'm assuming wh went to the later style for heavier demands on the pto (tiller,42"+ decks, etc)

it looks like it would function well, as long as there is good spring tension. it basically the same configuration as the transmission.

Like any belt, if the load is to great it will slip, but for the most part this set up worked well.
