Mower deck 05-36MS01 double pulley removal

Pulled my 36" deck off my C-85 to instal the mower blade that came off...again. And I discovered the double pulley was real wobley. Are these a bear to get off? Any tricks? Do I have to

remove the spindle? Thanks.

 

I'll tell ya, I don't envy you guys with larger decks. This 36" deck is heavy enough for me.

Take a look at the parts lists for

05-36MS01 (pulley keyed to shaft)

05-36MS02 (pulley not keyed to shaft)

If you have the key it may have worn the hub making it hard to get off.

 

You can leave the key out and use a standard nut and lockwasher.

Those center pulley's have a habit of wollering out in the center on those mower decks if not installed as designed with all the original equipment.   Lot of stress on the center pulley.

I've got the parts diagram. Just taking a fast look at it tonight I was looking to see how it comes a part. Nothing stuck out to me. I'll get a better look at it tomorrow. Thanks guys!
