Tankman 3,523 #1 Posted September 5, 2013 Not a fan of Deere's but I learned in Paris Island, "Green is to show the world we're mean." Anyway, Saturday, Sept. 7th, 9am-3pm, rain or shine BucksMont Two Cylinder Club puts on its' annual show. Welcomes tractors of all colors. Grandchildren love the show; ice cream is green with yellow sprinkles. Go figure! Calvary Church, 820 Route 113, Souderton, PA. A fun show the "tractor nuts" are everywhere! Tractor parade, kiddy tractor pulls, tractor games. "Red is for the blood we shed."
tunahead72 2,546 #2 Posted September 6, 2013 Thanks for the heads up, Tankman! Weather's supposed to be beautiful Saturday, high in the mid-70's. I sense a motorcycle ride in my future.
Tankman 3,523 #3 Posted September 6, 2013 Head north on 113 shouldn't take a tuna long to swim in nice water.
tunahead72 2,546 #4 Posted September 8, 2013 Hey Tankman, did you make it to this show? I was there for a couple of hours in the morning. Pretty nice show, small but well attended and just a fun event for all ages. I just missed the ice cream, they ran out while I was watching the tractor parade! But I did get some seat time on my bike on some nice two-lane rural roads, that's always a good thing. The tractors there were mostly older John Deeres, with a few Farmall, Allis Chalmers and some other brands. There were also some lawn and garden tractors, including some nice old Cub Cadets, but unfortunately no Wheel Horses -- maybe next year... And no, I don't have any photos, sorry. Actually my favorite vehicle there wasn't a tractor at all, but a 1932 (they think) Dodge dump truck. It was originally used by one of the local boroughs for road maintenance, and then sold to a local family for using on their farm, and it's still in the family. I talked to the grandson of the guy who bought it from the borough. He got talked into bringing it down to the show at the last minute, brought it in on a trailer, tried to start it and realized it was out of gas, had to remove the front seat to add gas, still wouldn't start, decided the battery was dead, went to a local auto parts place and bought a new battery, installed it and it ran, all before 9:00 in the morning! The truck is completely rusty, but well greased and everything works, even the dump section. The club is looking for suggestions for next year's show, I'm thinking a raffle would be a nice touch. Here's their web site in case anybody's interested: http://www.bucksmonttwocylinderclub.com/
