Kelly 1,033 #2 Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) Is it a real restore eveything taken apart checked, or replaced, so it's like new again, with nice paint?? or is it a rattle can restore?? in super condition, maybe $1000 that is about all you would ever get even with a new engine and automotive paint looking like new, a better with a rattle can paint job, maybe $200, with out seeing it and hearing it run, there is no real way of telling you it's value. The 857 in my profile pic, is one I did for my Daughter, I have about $1400 in to it and did not rebuild the engine, it was a low hour one I had, custom paint, all new tires, stainless bolts, new seat, ect...... timo4352 147 #5 Posted September 2, 2013 RMCIII I think I may have seen the pics of the same machine you are asking about. Looking closely I see paint overpray on tires, wiring and things like that. I would call that repainted, at best - not restored. Maintained might be a better word. On the other hand - if you consider the price of a big box store tractor and what you get for the money, this kind of price for this machine starts to make more sense -- if it runs and works like new. Kelly 1,033 #6 Posted September 2, 2013 If it is just a repaint, with over spray on stuff, that means it was not taken apart, and not worth near $1000 in my eyes I would rather buy one in it's orig. faded paint to see what is really there, if it is a sloppy repaint with out seeing it, $300 really can't value a item you see or touch, especially a mechanical item. I have a friend over that way and he used to send me emails all the time with really good deals he found on CL. If anyone knows what one is worth it's Kelly. Kelly 1,033 #12 Posted September 5, 2013 I know what tractors sell for around me in MI, other areas prices can be higher or lower, condition plays a BIG part on price, and 4 people can look at the same tractor and all have their own idea of it's condition, I've been a bodyman 30 years I have seen it all on cars, these tractors are no different, I just painted a car for a buddy in his barn 3 weeks ago, with very little light, and pen full of cows and chickens on the other side of the barn, we used a drop light so I could see if I was getting the color even, it turned out ok considering the conditions I was in, it has it's fair share of dirt, couple runs from not being able to see if I had enough paint on it, but my buddy and all his friends and family thinks it looks great, like I said everyone has different views of what is good and bad. timo4352 147 #14 Posted September 6, 2013 Yeah, yesterday it was $850 - I think -- with the tralier and throwing in an areator. Toady $700 for just the tractor. I'd says he's itching to sell now. Might be the time to check it out. Maybe he'd go cheaper now. I put my Craftsman tractor complete with deck, snowplow, weights and chains up for sale when I got my Horse --- I have not gotten one single call. Bad time of year to sell I guess. RMCIII 838 #15 Posted September 11, 2013 So the add now has the GT and the wagon at $750.00. I sent the guy a text. Asked him what he would take for the wagon. Sends a text back - "it's included with the tractor price". I send a text back. "Don't need a tractor, just the wagon". -No response. I guess he wants to keep all of it.
