Patrick Reese 40 #1 Posted September 1, 2013 Hi all, well we are knee deep in the restoration of a 1968 Commando 6 (posted over in the modification/restoration thread) and we are in need of a few things to finish off the body. First and most important we need a nice three spoke steering wheel for the Commando (or similar era) tractor. Ours had a broken hub that had separated from the metal inner hub. Two part epoxy put it together so that it looked good, but it just didn't hold when we tried to mount it up. A few taps on the rolled pin and the hub plastic split again. It's just not worth playing with any longer. Second thing we are really looking for is a light kit so that we can install headlights and a taillight. The plastic "WheelHorse" insert that goes where the headlights mount is warped and beyond use on ours. We found the site for all the decals and new dash overlay so the Steering Wheel and Light Kit are all that we need now to complete the body restoration. Then on to the HH 60 Tecumseh. Thanks! Patrick Reese 40 #5 Posted September 6, 2013 Thanks to Daveoman1966 for supplying the parts requested.. very reasonable price. Nice parts. The steering wheel just needed a little scuffing and a shot of Fusion plastic paint. The headlight kit Daveoman1966 supplied was over the top.. all parts needed including clips to sheetmetal for wiring and Dave even threw in a pair of new pop rivets for the headlight bucket! Thanks Dave
