Easternshore boy 2 #1 Posted August 28, 2013 Hello Everyone, This was my grandfathers Wheelhorse from day one. He has past now and it is still in the garage. I can't find no original paperwork on tractor. Help me...Can anyone tell me what I got ..age? Does this model run a rear tiller?? Any help would be appriciated. I had it running early this summer but since can't get to keep running...probably the carb. As the pics show it shows its age but still in nice shape. Can somebody even put a $$ amount on what she is worth? I have not a clue. Thanks for looking. Jay
rmaynard 16,287 #2 Posted August 28, 2013 Looks like a 1973 model 8 4 (8 HP, 4 Speed). The K181 is a good little engine. Not sure if it's beefy enough to run a tiller, but others may chime in to either agree or disagree with me. Clean the carburetor, clean the sparkplug, put some fresh fuel in it, and it will probably keep running for you. Any other problems and there are plenty of guys here to help you with that. Oh, and by the way, Glad to have another Marylander on board.

boovuc 1,090 #5 Posted August 29, 2013 Hi Jay, Welcome! If you go to the manuals section of Redsquare, you'll find information on your tractor. (1973 to 1977 section). It looks like it was well cared for! Good Luck!
Racinbob 11,909 #6 Posted August 29, 2013 Sure, it will run a tiller. The only problem might be if your soil dictates that you need a lower gear to slow down the froward motion.
groundhog47 347 #7 Posted August 29, 2013 Ditto the others . That "gizmo" up front with the belt coming round off engine clutch/PTO has a cover/shield you might want to see if can find. If the nut is on shaft, which it appears to be, pulleys won't fall off but it's safer on. Anyway a very nice tractor and great heritage/lineage goes forward, the best kind of recycling

Spend many days 'n nights in Denton or on the Choptank (drinkin' fish 'n catchin' beer) with relatives. Great place to hang your hat! [sister-in-law worked office at Preston Trucking.
