Replacing the drive belt for the first time since PO (at least 10 years).  What else should I be looking at inspecting, replacing, greasing, etc. ?

The correct OEM belt is # 7478...about $40 bux.  I have sevral of those in my shop for $20 bux if you want one.

As to inspection...

1) The idler pulley #6-22 in this schematic...I have that too, if needed.

2) # 6-40.  On the left end of it, there is a small tab that bolts to the side of the hoodstand.  This tab is ofter broken, but can be welded.

3) Look under the tractor, where the frame plate is bolted to the trans...is it cracked at all and are all 4 bolts tight.

ps...  keep the area around the motion lever 6-43 thru 6-50 area DRY...  do NOT oil these parts as they are designed to work under friction and oil defeats that purpose.

ps...DO NOT pull up the engagement lever in a PANIC STOP...  that will ruin the Sundstrand auto trans.  That lever is a Parking Brake and should pulled up ONLY when at full STOP.

I am in n/w PA at zip 16433 and my email address is:  daveoman@windstream.net

I have many good useable parts for the C-160....and others models.
