Butch 194 #1 Posted August 22, 2013 That's right. $113.00. Burns my ass to charge this much for some O-rings. One O-ring was broke so I wanted to replace them all. $113? No way. I head over to our local hydraulic shop. I gave them my cylinder and asked how much to replace them. $100. You gotta be kiddin me. Nope. Minimum charge is an hour and the rates are $100 an hour. The guy told me if I take the cylinder a part and bring the parts with the O-rings he would match them up. I go home spend two minutes taking the cylinder a part and take the piston pieces. He removes all the O-rings and takes them to get new rings. Comes back in 5 minutes and throws all the new Orings on. I asked what do I owe ya. Nothin he says. He said it ain't worth the paperwork for 6 or 8 O rings. That's twice that shop hasn't charged me for supplies. But come on Toro. $113?

Jeff-C175 7,206 #4 Posted August 22, 2013 Crazy... Even though a little late, I was going to point you over to http://www.classickitchensandmore.com/wheel-horse-tractors-parts-c-42.html because they sell the kit for the cylinder for about $10 or so... but I just looked and it's not listed anymore?! Maybe I bought the last one? Anyway, your FREE beats my $10 any day! He does still have the kit for the control valve though.
Butch 194 #5 Posted August 22, 2013 Jeff that's Eldons website who is a member here. He used to sell the hydraulic hoses for the C-175 also. I sent him an email a couple of years ago and he never responded.
KC9KAS 4,744 #6 Posted August 22, 2013 Sounds like you could get good work done cheap at this hydraulic repair shop. Once in a while you find a shop that will go out of their way to help you.
Jeff-C175 7,206 #7 Posted August 22, 2013 I just got the cylinder kit and valve kit from Eldon maybe a month ago... don't know why he didn't respond to email? Once in a while you find a shop that will go out of their way to help you. EXTREMELY rare here in Joisey. Most everyone wants to either steal your wallet or stab ya in the back. At least north of the Driscoll... down here where Butch and I are, not as bad, but yeah, Butch, yer lucky to find that guy! You should offer to cut his grass!
