papaglide 542 #1 Posted August 22, 2013 Well, I got to cutting grass with my new 417 and 3 issues presented themselves: 1. The engine rpm dropped noticeably when the tranny was engaged 2. The engine rpm dropped more when the pto was engaged 3. When the engine was at idle(parked) for about 90 seconds, she started smoking white smoke like a fog machine. When I moved the throttle back up to full, the smoking stopped. Are 1 and 2 normal? What does 3 mean regarding the condition of the engine? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
