boovuc 1,090 #1 Posted August 15, 2013 Anyone have a picture or can post one of their C-Series, 300, 400 or 500 series ARK loader's pump mount? I am stumped on how it mounts and I may be missing a part. I want to put this first on my 416-8 then eventually on my 520-H. Thanks in Advance!
MalMac 1,332 #2 Posted August 16, 2013 I can try and get you a pic this weekend. My Ark is mounted to a C-145, so my pump mount bolts right up to a Kohler. Not sure how you would mount it on a Onan.
boovuc 1,090 #3 Posted August 16, 2013 I'll take any picture you can give me of your mount on a C series.
boovuc 1,090 #5 Posted August 16, 2013 Thanks, Scott! Gives me another option on mounting!
wallfish 18,072 #6 Posted August 17, 2013 Here's my Ark loader pump mounted on a Kohler M16 on a 416-8. The other rear pump with all the fittings was added for the backhoe.
MalMac 1,332 #7 Posted August 17, 2013 Ok I as promised if I can get this photo thing right. Its hard to see the mounting bracket behind everything. The bracket bolts straight to the accessory tapped bolts in the Kohler block. Also this is on a C-141 not a C-145.
boovuc 1,090 #8 Posted August 19, 2013 Thanks, MalMac. I wish I had a K series I was hooking mine up to. My choices are a C-175 and a 520-H. Both twins and both with different engine mount plates. I think I'll mod a 90 degree plate off the frame rail directly between the mid attach a matic and straight below the PTO. I'll also have to see if I have enough clearance around the 520's muffler/hood for the brace arms. I see your brace arm is right against your PTO. It's going to be tight with the stock ARK loader's supports. Thanks Again!
MalMac 1,332 #9 Posted August 19, 2013 (edited) boovuc, just for reference when I bought this loader, it was mounted on a C-175 with the famous blown Kohler series 1. It used the same mount. Also the pic is misleading the brace is not against PTO. If you need more pic let me know. I also have been thinking about transferring this loader to a 520. Stockblock 0 #10 Posted August 20, 2013 The pics posted by smoreau look the same as my Kwik way loader, which is terrible mounting of the pump.... When the tractor/loader frame twist towards each other on that side it loosens the belt and the pump stops turning.I'm sure cranking the belt super tight could help but i dont like the idea of loading the bearings that much. It's on my list of things to re-engineer
boovuc 1,090 #11 Posted August 21, 2013 I think the plate that my Cessna pump it bolted to is different than yours. I looked at my C-175 and there is no way to do a straight mount like you did with it. I have an idea for mine but I do have to be careful because it requires mounting it low and closer to the front tire where it is sure do get banged and coated in muck. I may just mount it there just so I can fire this thing up and check the pump, lines, control valves and cylinders. Wish I had just one whole day to devote to it instead of a half hour here and an hour there! Thanks for the pictures from everyone.
boovuc 1,090 #12 Posted August 23, 2013 Finally had some time to do some cuts and a bracket weld. Bought a Dayton belt tonight and hopefully this weekend now that I can turn this pump over, I can test out this loader and see if its incontinent or usable as is! MalMac 1,332 #13 Posted August 23, 2013 Looks like you have got a good idea there. The only concern I have would be how low your bottom fitting is on your pump. Depending on what your using your loader for you can jam stuff up there real easy thus busting fitting, etc. To be honest I am not sure where else you could put it. I looked at something like that trying to figure out how to transfer my FEL to my 520. Might be able to rig up some kind of guard. Anyway your moving forward. Keep us posted can't wait to see that Ark on a 520.
boovuc 1,090 #14 Posted August 23, 2013 I thought of that. (Having the pump mounted low). I would like to have it up like Wallfish and yours but since this is going on a 520, the last thing I want to do is have it up where it is going to block air flow through that Onan. I went with Scott's location due to that concern. (You can see my already vented belt guard in the picture). This will be a good place to test it. It is not quite lined up true with the outside pulley off the PTO so I'll need another spacer and I think I can mount it an inch higher when it is complete. I also want to put a guard in place around both the input/output of the pump. It is going to be a leather and lace hookup. My real shiny 520 with this drab loader but once I know what it needs or doesn't need mechanically, then we'll start in the loader's looks department. It won't stay nice for long but it can look better as well as protect it from rusting. Thanks for all your help guys. I have my 10w-30 Pennzoil ready! Saturday is "test" day! I think I'll pick up a bag of oil dry today! And maybe a sheet or two of some Pig Mats! :< )
