Sycoticca 37 #9 Posted August 13, 2013 (edited) I did get the deck down from NY this week the tractor is still there till next month... I just got done tearing down the deck...there has been some repair done in the corners after I sandblast it I will see the extent of bad it really is. all the spindle bearings look pretty good I was surprised to see that the roller bearings were still pretty wet with grease. Does any one have the proper paint code for the WH red... or do I just match it as good as possible???? Edited August 13, 2013 by Sycoticca

What I use is code pr4 and it is a 2004 chrysler red. I matched it to a NOS suburban hood I had. Here's a picture of my tractor painted with pr4.

Irv 115 #13 Posted August 13, 2013 Most of us use Rustoleum regal red, rattle can or can. Be careful with the wiring when you put that motor back in. If you cross anything you can blow the coil and/or the trigger switch for that breakerless ignition and they are hard to come by and exspensive.
Sycoticca 37 #14 Posted August 13, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the advice...Aside from knowing that it was blown up when I got that is the extent of info that I know of it. So I am sure I will be here a lot asking a whole bunch of questions as I am going... Most likely I will use automotive paint on the refinish. heres my 79' C-81 The deck is Swiss cheese I've patched it a lot of times, there is not much left to weld to anymore...I will be look into finding a new deck soon or I was thinking of building one out of all 3/16 aluminum... 953 nut 60,127 #15 Posted August 14, 2013 You can get International Harvister red enamil and hardener at Tractor Supply, it is a good match for red. Feel free to ask anything you want on here, we all love to help.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,499 #16 Posted August 14, 2013 Tractor: Model: 1- 7423 (From what I can make out) Serial: 547985 (I believe I am missing a digit between the 7 and 9) Model number does not look correct. Should be 1-7235 or 1-7245 and both 1968 and 1969 had 6 digits in the serial number. The 1968 Electro 12 serials recorded so far start with 45, 46, 47 and 49 with 6 digits. The 1969 Electro 12 serials recorded so far start with 52, 54, 58 and 61 with 6 digits. Garry

prondzy 3,889 #18 Posted August 14, 2013 Good looking machine! make sure you double check that serial # if it is a 68 the decals are wrong and should be woodgrain decals like my 69 electro. The decals you have are from an early 70's model
