rydogg 186 #1 Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) I picked up my newest addition to my wheel horse collection today, it is a wheel horse lawn roller I located about 3.5 hours away but the seller was willing to drive 2 hours closer to me so I could pick it up. Collecting wheel horses is great but finding an excuse to use them more is even better. This roller will go great with my lawn aerator I picked up a while ago. This roller is from the late 60's thru the 70's. Did wheel horse have a roller before this for the RJ or Suburban tractors? Does anyone have any pictures to help identify one that may have been painted a different color? Edited August 12, 2013 by rydogg
KC9KAS 4,744 #2 Posted August 12, 2013 Does it have water or sand in it? Was it weighted when you got it? Very nice looking attachment.
rydogg 186 #3 Posted August 12, 2013 The previous owner used water in it but always drained it to prevent internal rust, it is actually pretty light when it is not weighted I unloaded it by myself.

CasualObserver 3,410 #6 Posted August 12, 2013 No wonder he never emailed me back.... Did wheel horse have a roller before this for the RJ or Suburban tractors? Does anyone have any pictures to help identify one that may have been painted a different color? It's in the brochure. #9

Tankman 3,520 #9 Posted August 17, 2013 Nice roller! An implement I've often thought of, and looked for. I am hesitant to use one though. I live in Rockhill, erosion is #1 and compaction is second. Too much clay in the soil. My only use would be on my gravel / millings driveways. I use the plow some and a Grandson on the 1 Ton tamper! Oh well, excellent roller just to own and admire too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lalmNq3d-KI
rydogg 186 #10 Posted August 17, 2013 Not sure it I am going to be able to use it as much I want I need to roll a few acres and it will take forever using this little 32" roller....that would be like mowing with the 32" deck I use a 52" mower and that takes long enough. I have been looking at a larger 48" poly roller. I may keep this around for the shows or trade it for something more useful like another sickle mower my fence lines are sure looking a little shaggy since I sold mine.
