glgrumpy 35 #1 Posted August 10, 2013 Got some brake shoes from member quite awhile ago. Just now today got them on. I mentioned a guard above the brakes that looked stock, yet no one here had heard of them. SO took pix of what was on mine, made by PO or stock??
prondzy 3,889 #2 Posted August 10, 2013 Are they there to prevent rocks from dropping between the shoes and rotors?
JamesBe1 84 #3 Posted August 10, 2013 The guard thing sure looks stock, but let's not discount the ingenuity/craftsmanship of some of the enthusiasts. I guess the only purpose would be to keep debris out of the pads. Any other ideas?
"D"- Man 827 #4 Posted August 13, 2013 I have checked my Turning Brakes manual/parts list it does not show or list any part #'s for a guard or bolts to fasten it to the Secondary Bracket, however; the two holes in the top of the Secondary Bracket must have been there for a purpose, if I am not mistaken the Cub Cadet turning brake system utilized this same Secondary Bracket on their turning brake system.
