Marv 984 #2 Posted August 7, 2013 Duke, What model used a 3/4 spindle? I thought they were all 1". Marvin
duke 49 #3 Posted August 8, 2013 The 18 Auto used a 3/4 spindle and some D-160's. I am trying to get a replacement front rim for the 18 Auto, not an easy task!
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,524 #4 Posted August 8, 2013 3/4"x1-3/8"x3/8" Wheel bearing 4999 Replaced by 110513 Napa 7-04292, HD 7-04232, Stens 215-210 Flanged wheel bearing Some of these bearing now have two seals and can not be greased. The ones with one seal on the outside can be greased. Where are you getting the 1-15/16" dimension? Garry
Trouty56 567 #5 Posted August 8, 2013 My 180 has the 3/4 inch spindles......guess the 1 inch was an option on anything less than the 200 maybe..... There was a lot of D series at Dave's Tractor when I used to scour the yard and they all were 1 inch there. Mostly D-200's though.....
Trouty56 567 #6 Posted August 8, 2013 Garry.....I was looking for a replacement for a wheel on my D when I first got it. It had an axle with a 3/4 inch spindle on 1 side and a 1 inch on the other..... I replaced the axle with one from a carcass that had 3/4 inch on both sides (maybe this was an 18 auto carcass and why mine are 3/4). I tried to find a bearing to replace the 1 inch wheel to reduce it to 3/4 but could not find one. I thought it was 1 7/8 outside though.... I used a brass bushing to go from 1 inch down to 3/4.... gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,524 #7 Posted August 8, 2013 I am realy confused now An original 1975 parts list show all 3 D-Series Autos using the 4999 3/4" wheel bearing The spindles list a #5700 1" E-ring retainer. (This may be for the top of the king pin) The flat needle bearing and flat races on the king pin are 1" Parts Tree list a 1" wheel bearing for the wide cleat tire wheels for the same 1975 models. I have 1.000"x1.875"x1.000"? in my notes. The original parts lists may all be wrong for the wheel bearing. Garry
duke 49 #8 Posted August 8, 2013 (edited) The 1-15/16 is the size of the hole in the hub of the rim. The rim is NOS 104399. The spindles on the 18 Auto are 3/4 and the original rim 102392 is really hard to find! So I went with the 104399 rim from the D-200 however the bearing is extremely rare! 1-15/16 OD by 3/4 ID. There was a spindle kit at one time. but now it's all in the past! A friend has three of the four bearings, very expensive! Macgyver 109 #10 Posted February 15, 2020 I'm not familiar with the bearings in that model. Are they tapered like the 520s with a race? If so I may have both bearings and races..
