glgrumpy 35 #1 Posted August 7, 2013 Not much response below, trying up here in this forum. Have 18 automatic, D series that has the female power take off quick-disconnect on the tractor itself, not the pto shaft of implement. Trying to hook up the tiller. Part # 102975 discontinued by Toro. OR, even the balls springs and outer pull ring off something that I may be able to rebuild mine?? Not sure that can be done. I have 1" shaft 15 spline which seems odder to find. Surely some of you D guys have had experience with these! Is there diff ways to adapt if no actual parts can be found? glgrumpy 35 #2 Posted August 10, 2013 Tiller works, but cobbled up connector isn't gonna hold up to actual tilling use. I tore up some dirt and my cable in yard today, sheesh! Oh, well, it works if now I only Knew how to use it! Pushed tractor pretty hard and with no brakes it was hard to control. I now have the brakes fixed, may try later.
Trouty56 567 #3 Posted August 10, 2013 I know it might be sacrilegious but the coupler is held in place with a rollpin on the pto shaft.....could you drill the shaft from the tiller and use the bearing holes to use a removable pin of some sort to hold the tiller shaft in the coupler? I know that sucker is really turning fast though....
JamesBe1 84 #4 Posted August 10, 2013 I had to disassemble my quick disconnect on my D-180 last year and cobble together drive shaft for my tiller. I recall that there was a toll pin that held it in place. I posted a thread about it with pics. If I can find it, I'll add a link. Maybe the pics will help. glgrumpy 35 #6 Posted August 11, 2013 The coupler comes off the shaft, held on with pin, aware of all that. It's the actual quick-release that is boggled on mine. The Woods stuff is close, but not exact. It is working for now to run for showing, but would worry about holding up in a real garden tilling. Why did Horse have to make there's backwards with mail on pto shaft and coupler on tractor, opposite any thing I have found before??? Someone had to make that joint, wonder what company that was? JamesBe1 84 #7 Posted August 12, 2013 Maybe you can post a pic or two to help us understand what kind of a setup yours is. Is you coupler anything like mine (see pics in other thread)?
