bwh3200 1 #1 Posted August 3, 2013 I suspect the throttle cable is bad, i repositioned it so that it wouldn't be so tight but have the same problem. What do I do? Thanks guys! It's a 520H.
rwilson 128 #2 Posted August 3, 2013 is it the engine rpm or just the mower deck?
Jeff-C175 7,206 #3 Posted August 3, 2013 I don't know if it was on a 520 or not, but I think I read a post on here a short time ago mentioned something about pinching a rivet on the throttle assembly a little tighter to cure this problem... that is if it's the engine itself slowing down and not just the mower deck. bwh3200 1 #4 Posted August 3, 2013 Its the engine rpm, i have to keep pushing the throttle back up into full rpm position. It just drifts down after a minute or so.
rwilson 128 #5 Posted August 3, 2013 Like Jeff said, There is a rivet on the throttle lever that needs pinched a little tighter. It is where it pivots on the mounting bracket.
Jeff-C175 7,206 #6 Posted August 3, 2013 Yep... if you type "throttle rivet" into the search box up there at the upper right, you will find that you are not alone!
HokieAg07 129 #7 Posted August 3, 2013 Either pinch the rivet with vice grips or I take the lever/cable off the tractor and peen the rivet on the bench. Works great.
