Now for the seat ........ spend 90$ at TSC for a Chinese seat, or spend 40-50 hours rebuilding the Made in USA seat ??

Lets make a new back and cushions.

For my money, I get the Michigan Seat V-3500 from Northern Tool. It's $50.00 plus shipping, and it is just like the original low-back WH seat, but without the logo.

Finally found time to finish the seat.

This is what I had to start with. I know this wasn't the original seat, but I like the high back two piece seats that were on most of the C's.

Made a pattern from the C-160 seat.

Transferred to 1/6" steel from old cabinet door.

Cut out the back.

  To be continued.

Bend the tabs on the bottom of the back.

Weld the back to the bottom

Layout the cushion pieces on the vinyl left from the C-160 cushions.

HunBun sews it all together.

To be continued.

Those rattle cans get expensive, and you never have enough.I bought a cheap gun several years ago.You would not use  a pint of paint  on that tractor. If I can learn to use a gun anyone can.Just a little test spraying on some cardboard gives you the Idea.My thoughts have always been to use light coats, you can always add more, but it's pretty messy to take it off.

Now that stitching is an art.I have a guy cover some for 40.,but thats just flat stock, none of that fancy stuff.

The tractor looks great,no matter what method you used to get there.

Thanks Fly, I'll probably go with a gun If ,when, I start another project. I probably have 20-25 cans on this project.

Certainly doesn't look like a rattle can paint job.

A couple final pics with the new seat.

Not perfect , but I made some improvement over the C-160 I did last year.

Just need a few knobs that I will get at the Big show next spring.

Thanks for all your  comments....they are appreciated.

Special thank you to Terry for the decals and to Martin for setting me straight on the placement.

Also gotta thank HunBun for makin the cushions.
