GT14 fuel pump woes.... Now fixed, and not what I imagined it would be

Last year I had a few wobbly moments with my GT...

It cut out going up a steep hill and rolled backwards into a tree, it stopped at the first show of the year, and failed me at the uk horse meet at Ardingly.

The carb has been cleaned, pump rebuilt, etc, etc...

I've not been happy, but it has seemed to run better when the tank was full and I assumed it was just helping a weak pump.

However today it started cutting out and spluttering and then stopped. I brimmed the tank and still I could see the fuel filter dry.

Checked the fuel tap and doh!! It was turned off. Turned it back on and bingo it started. :)

5 minutes later it stopped :o

Hmmm, checked the fuel tap

It was off again! Turned it, started and watched it slowly vibrate closed :/ you can see how shiny the brass is with constant movement.

Seems I need to fully open it to the end stop and my issues will all go away :D

Mine was also really loose although it didn't vibrate closed. All i did was take it apart and replace the o-rings

inside . They were a standard size in my o-ring kit. Just don't over tighten when you put it back together

or you could destroy the new o-rings.

I'm going to stick with leaving it fully open for now and enjoy not breaking down :D
