Suburban drive belt

Recommended Posts

Tom.

I got my NOS engine mounted on my suburban today however I am having trouble with the drive belt. I am struggling to get the drive belt to not engage the drive pulley while the clutch is out so I then adjust it but then it's too loose and the idler pulley won't reach it to engage it. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong???? I don't have the belt guard for it if that makes a difference?? If anyones got any advice or tips I'd appreciate it!

You need the little wire keeper fingers bolted to the engine.  They take up the slack and disengage the belt when you depress the clutch.

I'll see if I can find a post on them.... there's been some with pictures in the past.

1569 crosses to a 4L290W Napa belt if you don't find an OE
