I used to have one myself, but it never worked. I want to say they were built by GE, Philco, or something like that. I sold it a few years ago, but I'll look for some pictures. I saw one on Evilbay a few years back now, too. But I'll say it was certainly a score!

Saved these from a long time ago....  The radio brand was Bendix.  The manual for it should be in the manuals section.

Jason, looks like you have WLS tuned in on that radio...good choice back then,,,they were doing the top 40...Richard Bionde  was the evening disk jock.  "On top of a pizza, all covered with cheese..." :)   Ahhh...the good old days.

Yeah; trip down memory lane -- WLS was one of 3 stations we could pick up on road trips in Missouri at night -- KAAY out of Little Rock (you could actually listen to album rock music on AM radio for 2 hrs every night in the late 60s on that station) and WOAI out of San Antonia were the other two -- Pray for good ionisphere (sp?) so that they would come in loud and constant -- Dating myself now -- Road trips to football and basketball games back in the day

Mounted on the hood with an RFI shield placed over the top of the engine.

Who was that? Was it Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers? I forget most of the early 60's.

Driving was lonely without radio. Bought my 1st 8 track in '65 for my new Barracuda but only had a few tapes. Drove from Tulsa to NYC with my girlfriend (at the time) listening to Andy Williams and Trini Lopez. :woohoo:
