Having a Heck of a Time Removing Electric Lift!

Recommended Posts

Wheel Horse Kid

Hi All,

I am trying to get the electric lift off my 518h and am having a heck of a time doing it. What I thought would be a 30 minute job is turning into a 2 hour job. :confusion-scratchheadblue:

Here is where I am at:

I got the lift switch, electric motor, and wiring all taken out. I am now trying to get the actual lift bar itself out now. I go the pins out of the lift arm and all, but just cant figure out how to get the arm out of the tractor. I have been working on this for like an hour and am ready to just start cutting off the side plate if I don't get anywhere soon!!!!!

Here are some pictures of where I am at:

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! I have never taken out one of these before and am basically at a standstill till I get this figured out! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Thanks,

Taylor

Have you read through the installation instructions from the manuals section?  That would help you figure out what step you're missing.

I looked in the manuals section and all I could find is a manual for the 89-90 lift. My lift is an 88 and I believe it is a bit different...

If you go to the manuals section and then type electric lift in the search box, it will bring up all four that are in there.  The parts lists don't look much different between 1987 and 1991 at a glance, so I think you'll be ok using it.  The one for 1991-2004 is the whole manual with pictures.

After working on it some more, I was finally able to get the lift off! :)
