bean 85 #1 Posted July 28, 2013 just tore apart my k161 and noticed the camshaft lobes are different. one is sharper than the other. I am assuming there is a different profile for intake and exhaust, with the lift for exhaust being less than for intake here are a few pics. what do the experts think. I have only taken apart a couple of these kohler k series, and I just happened to notice the difference. makes me wonder, because if a previous camshaft looked like this, I would have certainly noticed it Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Fordiesel69 271 #2 Posted July 29, 2013 Only a measurement will tell. The first pic shows a little grinding on the side which is not a problem. The height of the lobe can be measured with a pair of calipers or a micrometer. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
