steve k 82 #1 Posted July 28, 2013 Is the six speed what most people call an 8 speed? Just wondering, I have a raider 12 with a six speed( 3 forward gears with hi/lo). OR is there a wheel horse transmission with 4 forward gears hi/lo? Thanks! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
stevasaurus 22,233 #2 Posted July 28, 2013 (edited) No...a six speed is an eight speed. They just called them six speeds when they first went to the hi/lo for a few years. The three speeds and four speeds are pretty much the same thing. They just started counting reverse as one of the gears.
