Unique but very practical hitch system, allows the box to go all the way to the ground (pivots from axle) and still be hitched to the tractor. The undercarriage metalwork would have added to the original cost, everything looks heavy duty.

The axle is just forward of center which would make the full box back-heavy, ='s easier dumping.

The low back would make it easier to roll a large rock in.

I like it.

Made by Simplicity for the 2-wheel tractors 1955-1965.

Montgomery Ward sold this model in 1958-1960.

You can download 2 manuals from

http://www.simplicitymfg.com/us/en/support/manuals

Use the 990029 model number.

Nice cart! I like it too and wouldn't hesitate pickin' one up.

Where did you find the cart?

The mid-mount grader blade makes me drool too! Would love to find one at a decent price!

One important item, I really want to thank Garry for his continued support for all of us looking for information. Garry is the SGT (Smithsonian of Garden Tractors). Thanks Garry!  :ychain:

it was a yard sale on the side of the road, had a newer craftsman sitting with it and wanted $100 for both. So talked him out for only $45.00, dry desert climate has been good on this 50 year old gem.  it wont go back to stock, but it will go nice with the tractor. about the blade that was a bonus with the tractor. and yes, GARRY has earned my "SUPPORTER"  for the year,  :banana-tux: (and a dancing banana)

I just got lucky this time beause I have a few Simplicity walkers and familiar with the product. That is one nice cart and I don't have one.
