gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,499 #2 Posted July 25, 2013 Gear 4-speed 1" axle 4-pinion 5053 4-speed transmission with 4 two-piece pinions (4235 spur gear on 3909 pin) differential and 1" axles Replaced 5007 5025 5046 5049 in 1966 Used 1966-1969 The later pinion gears are one piece making them much stronger. groundhog47 347 #3 Posted July 25, 2013 (edited) Don't have a ref to strength but is four pinion, 1" axel, comes on Lawn Ranger, 657, 857, Work horse 700, Commando 6, 8, V8. Don't know anything about those except L-156 Lawn Ranger and it's only a roller for now. Short little axels too.
