bcl 1 #1 Posted July 22, 2013 I have a 314H of 1997 vintage that the starter died. I removed the wire from the solenoid to the starter and hooked 12V right to the starter from one of those jump boxes and the starter will not turn over. I took the starter off the tractor and it came apart and the brushes fell out. Any good ideas on how to hold these together while removing and putting it back on the tractor, and getting the brushes back in the holders so I can test this thing off the tractor??? Also any leads on where to get one? Thanks for any help... Brian in PA.

Kelly 1,033 #4 Posted July 24, 2013 That is a magnum engine correct?? the starter uses the engine as the end of the starter so you can not bench test it, you can see there is no end on the case at the drive end of the starter, ebay or a small engine shop should be a start to find a new one, and cheaper is not always better on electrical items.
