Tractor prices

Recommended Posts

Well for lack of something to do and since this topic has come up often here, I thought I would go on e--y and see what other tractors are priced at. Boy did I get a surprise but most of them list under garden tractor were newer than our Horses. But WOW! I just looked at the first page.

Surprised which way! Thought they were inexpensive or expensive?

If tou think :wh:  asking prices are high you need to check our Massy Ferguson garden tractor prices. My first GT was a 1970 10 HP MF and I had them on my watch list, hardly ever see one and when you do it is junk and priced out of this world! I may be sentimental but I'm not stupid.

I guess as the economy improves all collectables will go up in price so these people are trying to cash in early, but not from my wallet!

I saw a real sloppy Massey Ferguson 10hp at a show I was at yesterday. I couldn't believe the price, 900.00 firm!

Dont look at current auctions..they are meaningless..

people can ask $2,000 for a tractor worth $200..doesn't mean its worth $2,000! ;)

Instead, do your ebay search, and on the left side you will see "show only" choices..click on "sold listings"..

that shows auctions that have ended, and what tractors actually sold for..

you will notice quite a difference! ;)

This year I'm having a hard time selling good running, not bad looking tractors for $300 I started parting them out, I can sell and have good motors out of them for $200-250 rest is parts.

I was surprised at how high they were starting them out. I am not new to this you know but it seems there are a lot of stupid people trying to make a killing on all garden tractors. Do you even consider spending $2000+ for these tractors?

I am like Kelly as far as selling but I don't part them. It seems like this year started off pretty good. I sold a couple in January and was doing OK till the end of March then it just died. I have seen several posts here lately about not being able to sell a tractor for a reasonable price and then raising the price and it sells. What is that about? I tried that and it didn't work in my area.

By the waay there is a Massey on there for $199 right now!
