Ohiogardener 0 #1 Posted July 15, 2013 I just purchased a Ber-Vac 38" dual stage snowblower, model W0238. The manual says that it fits 300, 400, and 500 series tractors. i own a C series tractor. The previous owner of this snowblower had it on a 500 series tractor. The PTO and everything looks like the hook up would work but Im not sure. One thing I noticed was the other mower had a hydrolic lift deck and the one im trying to put it on doesnt. Im also wondering if i have enough hp. I think the C series tractor I have is a 12 hp kohler. Do you guys think that i can make it work?
varosd 1,185 #2 Posted July 15, 2013 Welcome to RS There has been previous threads on the Ber-Vac/Bercomac blowers. RS members will chime in who have theses attachments. It should whether you have manual lift or hydro lift. just a matter of hooking up the chain or lift rod (depends on your model year) My 77 B-80 has a rod and my 1988 520-H has the chain. see below. any pictures? Forest Road 594 #3 Posted July 17, 2013 Welcome to RS! I have a Toro 2 stage blower on a 314h. I also had it mounted on a 312 for testing purposes. You shouldn't have any trouble mounting that to a manual lift machine. It might be a bit heavy to lift. As for HP more is best for the 2 stage blowers. Your 12 hp will spin the blower just fine. However you'll really appreciate a higher HP tractor. Check out "THEHORSEFIXER" on you tube. He's a member here. His original snow chucker was a 12 hp hydro C series. bigfkd22 11 #4 Posted August 4, 2013 I have a bervac blower 44 2 stage made for a 520 on my c-160 hydro. It works really well. It does get bogged down in the really deep stuff but it blows snow and easy 50 feet. I have seen pictures of a bervac on a 312 or 314 that had a manual lift and it had 2 lift springs I believe. I know I sure appreciate the hydro lift! The thing is a beast!! I actually am looking for a 520 just so I can hook it up and see how much damage I can do with the onan ! There is a manual floating around if you search this forum I think you can find it.
scraper 4 #5 Posted August 4, 2013 I have a 44" two stage blower mounted on a 314-8. The snowblower works great. Last year during the blizzard we had it never clogged, not even once, we had about 28" of snow. What I did find was that the 14 HP motor just is not powerful enough for it. For throwing snow, the more HP the better.
