specialk7492 1 #1 Posted July 12, 2013 I was mowing with my 655 horse and I decided to sharpen the blades. So I took them off and sharpen them. Once I put them back on and started it up the blades were knocking together. What would cause this? This seems like a stupid question to be asking
Racinbob 11,946 #2 Posted July 12, 2013 The blades are keyed and have to have it there to keep the blades 90 degrees apart. In other words, when one is parallel to the frame the other is 90 degrees to it. I'm thinking the key wasn't re-installed.
specialk7492 1 #3 Posted July 12, 2013 I took the deck off and when I move the belts the spindles work good but when I stop moving the belts one blade stops but the other moves
Racinbob 11,946 #4 Posted July 13, 2013 It does sound like a key is missing or broke. Check the gears on top of the deck as well if it's not the blades. I'm betting it's one of the blades missing the key.
