boovuc 1,090 #1 Posted July 12, 2013 Well...............long day at work started by a blinking non-functioning alarm clock due to a power outage. (West Penn's squirrels must have walked off the job)! Got home to mow my hay fields due to the constant rain we have had! 310 ran, mowed then wouldn't shut off with the key! jiggled a bit and turned it off and on and it finally shut off but I forgot to punch the throttle and it backfired in the garage enough to ring both ears for awhile! Next................Checked the oil on the 520-H, fired it up and put my ear muffs on and it stalled. Fired it again and my dash gauges went out! Opened the hood and saw a wire on the regulator off. Put a new end on two of the three and re-crimped the second wire on the first terminal and checked. Still out! Checked the 15amp fuse. Blown! Replaced it! Good! Pulled her out front and dropped the deck, engaged the PTO and rototilled a six foot section of the lawn! Then I remembered when I got off the tractor during the "fix" earlier, I kicked the height adjustment getting off the seat! I didn't think about it then. It WAS all the way forward. I usually keep it as it is pictured then just drop the deck. (Learning moment guys)! I think I'm going down to the Amish farm and buying some goats.

leeave96 490 #5 Posted July 12, 2013 Question is - when you mowed the grass on the negative height setting, did you slip a belt? ;)
stolly23 1 #6 Posted July 12, 2013 RIght there with ya, was mowing with my new 312-8 today and parked it, put the brake on, moved something, then drove off mowing again without taking the brake off. She was smoking really well by time I got back to the barn. The kicker is I just adjusted the brake yesterday. She smoked for about a minute and a half. duh!! Wheel Horse Kid 105 #7 Posted July 12, 2013 I know what you are talking about Boo Vuc!! I had the same type of day today. One thing right after another would go wrong for me today. Hopefully, tommorow will go better for both of us but at least today is over!! I think I am going to go read in my Wheel Horse book for some therapy!
