WHEELHORSE SER.#62-35737 / also 704 WHEELHORSE

Just acquired this unit and above numbers is all I can find. Does the 62 identify this unit as a 1962 year?. I know is very old. Rear end has label saying Uni-Drive Rear end. Unit is very rough but several good parts.

Also acquired a 704 is much the same mower with some minor differences--same deck.

62-xxxx serial numbers generally indicate a 62 or early 63  model.  They didn't manage to use up all the serial decals in the 62 production and decided to discontinue that idea.  In true Wheel Horse fashion though, they didn't throw them out when they switched over to making the 63 models... they just used them up first.

That would explain why the '63 tank tower I bought for my 854 had a serial number prefix of "62-".  I was wondering why that was.  My 854 has a serial number of 40927, so I know they changed the number scheme by '64.
