westkane 1 #1 Posted July 3, 2013 Based on what you folks said, I am in the process of cleaning the carb to see if this helps with the governor cycling. I have a question about my carb, it appears to have an open "port" above the idle jet. Should this have a plug over it, or is it to be open to atmosphere? Please see the attached pic. JackC 617 #2 Posted July 3, 2013 Looks like there is a welch plug missing over the hole above the plastic limiter cap.
bewford 21 #3 Posted July 25, 2013 Did you get this fixed and did it cure the surging
westkane 1 #4 Posted July 25, 2013 Thanks to you fine folks, the cleaning the carb did the trick, it now runs like a champ. The deck is scalping on the right side so now I have to figure out why that is happening and how to adjust it. I made sure that it was clean underneath last night, but its still doing it, right side only. Putting a level on the deck, it doesn't seem to far out of level, but maybe it just takes a tiny bit of tilt to cause scalping. Thanks to all
