stevebo-(Moderator) 8,541 #1 Posted July 2, 2013 All- I picked up a pto set up for my 953 but I am missing a few things. The backing plate has the 4 holes to bolt to a drive pulley however the drive pulley on mine has no holes. Can anyone tell me what drive pulley I need? Size and shaft diameter? I am also missing the plain bearing that goes over the crank shaft and inside the pto housing. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.
Martin 2,133 #2 Posted July 2, 2013 Steve, I need to check when I get a chance, but I think you have an incorrect backing plate. From memory my 1054 backing plate doesn't have holes and the pto assembly is held on the shaft by a set screw much like the drive pulley. The key in the output shaft holds the backing plate and "inner race" for the pto bearing from turning. Inner race has a set screw. Pto assembly is different from the later "4 screw" backing plate pto's. It's late and I could be off track here, will check it out tomorrow and confirm. evanloock 236 #3 Posted July 2, 2013 Martin is correct.....look at the RM-483 manual available here for a parts breakdown for the PTO.
Martin 2,133 #4 Posted July 2, 2013 heres a pic or 3 of what i have.... i think the roller bearing is a different size than the later pto bearings, maybe the seal as well ? im not sure about the washer welded in the end of the sleeve........ the manual should help too........
