Need help identifying this Wheel Horse

Recommended Posts

ironhorse

My dad has had a Wheel Horse since the early sixties.  This is one of his that he let me use.  I want to fix some things for him and can not find a serial number or model for the parts guy at Toro.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Thank you guys for the reply.   Needed a main drive belt (stretched) and belt to mower deck pulley (think dad put a automobile belt on it).     The guy at the Toro parts told me that the main spindle bearing for the deck is no longer  made.  The rest of the bearings for the pulleys, he has.  Is this correct?  So far they are tight but hard to tell which pulley bearing is making all the noise.   Thought I might try replacing all of them on the deck.   Thoughts?

Garry,  Thank you very much for the download, after seeing where the ID. plate was (couldn't believe I missed that), I found these numbers:  What exactly do they mean?

ID.

72-08BP01-2691

      6348

Here is the correct manual

and a few service bulletins

Transmission parts list

The model number is 72-08BP01

The serial number is 2691 but if you go to Toro and they ask for the serial number do not enter it. Use the word none for a serial number.

6348 is the Julian build date 348th day of 1976 = Monday December 13, 1976. Have learned this is not the day they built it but is the day they scheduled it to be built.

Parts lists are here

https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro

but be careful. These are shared by similar models so an item may be listed more than once with different part numbers but fails to tell us what model uses what. To print the pages click on the small printer icon at the top left of each illustration.

Thanks Garry,

I spent some time on the computer but have yet to find anything on the mower deck or the pulleys or bearings.  If they don't exist what does a person do for parts?  Can they be repacked? No fitting that I can find on them to oil them.

There are extraordinary machines here, people really have a passion for their tractors.  Great site.  Wish I had found it much earlier.

Some service bulletins on the mower deck

Parts list is here for the 75-36MR01

https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro

There is also a 75-36MR02 and don't know what the difference is.

This is all I have found so far.

I know Toro no longer carries the spindle bearing but still available from Stens and Napa.
