Slot hitch or clevis hitch

Recommended Posts

I want to install one of these on my 416-8. I have both. I also have a slot to sleeve hitch adapter. My question is which one would be a better, all purpose hitch? Also, where in the heck does the tube for the cable go and how is it orientated. (There is a bend in it.) BTW, I am not using the bell crank between the fenders. I am going to install it like the one on my B-80. Anyone see any problem doing it this way?

The tube sits on top of the tranny and the flared end faces the back of the tractor. The other end fits into a hole in the frame plate that the tranny mounts to. .I believe it's at the top between the top tranny mounting bolts. The clamp that holds the tube fits under a bolt that you will need to remove on the tranny top to hold the tube. If I could find a picture it would be better than my confusing directions. I'll look.

Thanks Rich. There isn't a clamp in there but I think that I have an idea where it should be.

The bend is for a hydro, there are straight ones for the 8 speeds etc.
