Jsmay101 2 #1 Posted June 21, 2013 Hey guys, silly question but I'm looking to replace the chewed up tension bolt on the front of the mule drive. I have a 1990 520h.. The knob was lost years ago and the previous owner used vise grips to tension the belt.. I bought a new know but still looking for the correct bolt.. Where can I find one??? Thanks Jason
cheesegrader 433 #2 Posted June 22, 2013 I think you can still get the part from Toro, but I would try to find it used from Kelly or one of the other used parts guys. Mules often go bad from damaged pulleys. The other remaining parts seem to be pretty common.
doc724 925 #3 Posted June 27, 2013 If it is really badly chewed, replace the bolt. However, if it just has teeth marks in it, grind or sand off the raised parts. The new knob will hide the chewed up part anyway. The biggest challenge is getting the spring pin in without cracking the knob.
