blackwater73 8 #1 Posted June 20, 2013 How do you get to the grease fittings to add grease and also lube the teeth on the 416-8 tractor?
Tankman 3,523 #2 Posted June 20, 2013 I find it easiest to remove one of the dash panels to grease steering gear. Also spray some penetrating oil on the shaft and shaft stop. I have also removed the steering wheel center cap and oil the top of the shaft, replace the cap. Good time to replace screws or nuts if required. I use Never-Seez® on the threads, always. A half pint of Never-Seez® lasts years. A little dab'll do ya. The 1/4-20 screws I have replaced with stainless Phillips head screws. I think they have a broader head but, they are easier to replace and/or remove new.
Callen 64 #3 Posted June 20, 2013 I think if you turn your steering wheel all the way to the right, you can get on the grease fitting through the opening under the battery.

I just get carried away with PB and spray around when I remove a panel.
