Scrap yard treasure

Recommended Posts

I ran across a blade and a rear discharge deck at the scrap yard. They have not been used in some time but I think they will work out fine. $54.00

Nice find.  It looks like they will restore nicely.

I got the blade all pulled apart, painted and put back together. It  look's a lot better. So I went to put it on the tractor 312-8 and have found that it is a little bit of an undertaking to put on. The handle for the blade angel is in a bad spot, hitting the foot rests but that wasn't as irritating as having to remove the tire in order to get the pin in through the hitch hole in the rear end, then hooking up linkage for raise and lower. I am nervous about putting that kind of stress on the rear end when pushing at an angle. So, I cut the mount off for the blade angle and will relocate. I have made a linkage identical to whats on the mowing deck to be received by the Attach-O-Matic and tomorrow if time permits, I'll work on making the back portion slide over the existing draw bar with room to move back and forth during raise and lower. I would like to think the changes will improve to within 5 minutes to install. Question: Has anyone else done this to their plow and how did it work out?
