leeave96 490 #1 Posted June 11, 2013 Is it just me or do you find when you do a search on craigslist that Wheelhorse tractors that are listed are gone in a FLASH!!!!!??????? Wow - I've never seen these tractors turn over so quickly. I'd have thought the rush for a tractor (for this mowing season) would have hit it's peak about a month ago! Maybe I ought to go out an put a lock on my fleet... Thanks! Bill
squonk 43,869 #2 Posted June 11, 2013 It depends where you are and the prices. There has been a couple around me that have been advertised for quite a while. Of course being pretty much junk with an asking price of over $500 would have something to do with that.
Wheel Horse Kid 105 #3 Posted June 11, 2013 I agree that it really depends on price and location. Here in Indiana on Craigslist, most of the good deals are gone within a day or so, but overpriced stuff stays on for a long time and the seller will have to drop the price a few times before he can sell it. Unfortunately, by the time I see the good deals, they are usually gone. I always seem to do better with Ebay than Craigslist...
Hodge71 665 #4 Posted June 11, 2013 The craigslists that I hit everyday have been preety dismal as of late. Either complete junk or its a model have no interest in. Theres no less than four 520's on there and have been for aboout a month. ranging from $1900 to $3000. WAAAAAAAYYYYY too high if you ask me.....The rest that have been on ther are overpriced too. A 314-8 for $1500, a Bronco 14 for $1300 a few others way up there too. Its pretty tough shopping for decent iron as of late
Trouty56 567 #5 Posted June 11, 2013 I was just looking on CL and a guy in Manheim is selling RJ exhaust sheilds he had manufactured for 35 bucks..... Worth it????
StWeiler 6 #6 Posted June 11, 2013 I'm soooo dang jealous of you east coasters and your deals. It's sickening. Here's what we have in the green and gold capitol of the world. http://desmoines.craigslist.org/grd/3862513026.html http://desmoines.craigslist.org/grd/3852994116.html http://desmoines.craigslist.org/grd/3801076922.html I apologize if I wasn't to post direct links. Wheel Horse Kid 105 #7 Posted June 12, 2013 WOW! They are all pretty decent looking tractors, but I sure would not pay that much for them!
cdsl810 181 #8 Posted June 12, 2013 There have been some good deals in Michigan this year. I picked up my 1990 520-H with 500 hours and the 48" side discharge deck for $900. It is in extremely good condition and was well maintained. Last month I picked up a brand new single stage snow thrower for $325. And yesterday I got a 48" pushblade with tire chains and a set of cast iron wheel weights for $125. (I do need a few 520 friendly parts for the blade still) It's like a Wheel Horse festival around here!
littleredrider 409 #9 Posted June 12, 2013 Hmm, i couldn't even get phone calls when I had mine listed.
sned 15 #10 Posted June 12, 2013 There is a c160 by me for $150 ;)
546cowboy 302 #11 Posted June 12, 2013 (edited) I see Iowa is about the same as most of Indiana. If I want to find W/H's I have to search a CL's within 150 miles and most are 150 miles away in Indianapolis with high prices or up in Michigan. With gas at $4+ a gallon and a 10 m.p.g. truck it gets out of my price range in a hurry After reading some posts farther down, I don't have a cell phone. I use Search Tempest if I want to search farther away from me. Edited June 12, 2013 by 546cowboy
Dieselcowboy 210 #12 Posted June 12, 2013 Thats ok . I'm the one in indy sucking up the good deals. I have craigslist on my phone and check it all the time. My last pick up was the 520h with 860 hours.
sned 15 #13 Posted June 12, 2013 You guys need the craigslist app. Notifies me the second a wheelhorse hits the internet within 150 mile radius. No searching required.
Wheelhorsedairyfarmer 13 #14 Posted June 12, 2013 A tip for searching craigslist, dunno if anyone else does this or not, but when searching for horses.....I do it 3 ways. 1st way, "Wheel Horse"......2nd way...."Wheelhorse" and 3rd, what I'll call my "wild card" is "Toro". Sometimes these pull up different results if people list them differently. Just thought I'd toss that out there.
DoctorHfuhruhurr 137 #15 Posted June 12, 2013 You guys need the craigslist app. Notifies me the second a wheelhorse hits the internet within 150 mile radius. No searching required. I like the CraigsNotifica app. I don't think it's available through the Google Play anymore but it works great. It's available elsewhere though. I think Craigslist got it pulled.
