416 price

Recommended Posts

Wheelhorse84

I am selling my like new 416-8 with an onan. It has a power flow vacuum bagging system and the whole tractor is like brand new. It has 383 hours on her and has a new coil and crank sensor. I had it on for 1800 and had a few bites so I lower it to 1200 and I have 1 million emails begging to buy it. I fell like I'm giving it away now. Can someone please talk me through this. Lol.

Pull it and re-list it in a month for $1500.  :-)

May I ask why you're selling it?  It's in great condition (I looked up the ad).

I have my C-160 and the 416 I don't have room for both and I want to get a new walk behind to mow my lawn.

WOW! this sounds kind of familiar. About 3 years ago I bought a like new 416-8 with the Onan, 500 hours, 48" mower, new sleeve hitch, weighted tires and powered bagging system for $1,200 and I felt like it was a steal and I indeed got a very good deal! Just for fun (several months later) I put it up for sale just to see what would happen. I had it on craigslist for $2000 FIRM without the bagging system (kept it for my older c series) The crazy thing sold 1 week later and the guy brought cash and no haggling! Dang I miss that tractor though! If we were not so far apart from each other I might want to talk to you about your tractor. Good Luck!

AMC RULES

It's hard for me to sell a tractor period...I mean, I seem to develop an emotional attachment to every :wh: I get.

Sure wish I could thin the herd a little bit...it could be worse...you could have ten of 'em in the space for two. :)

I am wondering why you dropped the price so much? I would have lowered it to the $1500 like was suggested. I am not a big fan of pulling the ad and relisting at a higher price. When I see a seller do that I don't bother calling. Good luck in whatever you decide.

I have had luck raising prices.  Price them to low, folks think there is something wrong...  I had a quick cushion hitch for a truck, the universal kind for sale for over 2 years on CL.  I doubled the price and then the emails started.  I still got more for it than I started and the funny thing was that I was going to scrap it the next car that was going to the crusher.

You may get lucky and someone will call that doesn't know you raised the price. I know what ya mean, its a sucky feeling when you sell something with that feeling that you gave it away. That bad taste lingers for awhile....

You asked..,you have to do what is right for you, But that would be one of those CL things we all complain about. I saw an ad on a tractor that I wanted, contacted the guy and now see the price has increased. If you are good with that then more power to you, but for a 200 dollar difference I would tuck my tail and call it a learning experience. In either case I looked up your ads and I would suggest putting all the prices the same, because it looks like you did raise some to 1400 and still at least one at 1200...

This happens to me all the time. I figure that I bought it at a certain price, used it, so I end up selling cheaper than I paid for it figuring that I got my monies worth out of it. Its only after I sell a tractor that I think that "maybe I could have got more for it?"   Then again, I don't sell tractors to make money. I price tractors to break even or I price them to sell.  :eusa-think:

Seller's  remorse is not as common as buyer's remorse!

If you want to sell and your feel good about it and it goes to a good buyer that wants it that is all that should matter!
