Tankman 3,523 #6 Posted June 10, 2013 Good question. I don't know either, my 520 springs are 'bout 2" Ø. My 416 has the small rubber pads. Take a peek-a-boo here http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=toro_consumer&mn=31-16K801%2C+416-8+Garden+Tractor%2C+1985&dn=810386R1-386R1052-00023 I don't see (or feel) any difference except the bounce-about. 546cowboy 302 #8 Posted June 10, 2013 Originally the springs were wrapped with a plastic on the bottom and there was a plastic on the seat pan but that didn't work out very well as both wore off and the paint gets ate up in a hurry. I tried a few things and finally gave up on saving the paint there. If they had mounted the springs to the seat pan it would have been a better idea. As far as bouncing around on the trailer, that's because the seat shock won't hold the seat up in position anymore. I have only had one 520 that the shock actually held the seat up on. MalMac 1,332 #9 Posted June 10, 2013 Normally I put a strap across the seat when I put it on a trailer. I do that to all of them.
