J.Henry 8 #1 Posted June 10, 2013 I am new to the forums and apologize if I am posting this in the wrong place. I recently purchased a new house and to sweeten the deal the previous owner threw his Toro Wheelhorse 520H in on the deal. It runs and appears to be in good condition, has 195 hours on it and I believe it was manufactured in 96 (based on a date I found in the manual). I am thinking of selling it as it is a bit more tractor than I need for my lawn. The problem is that I have no idea what it's worth. Can anyone point me in the right direction on price? Much obliged, J.Henry

Sparky-(Admin) 23,199 #6 Posted June 10, 2013 Probably best if you post a couple pics for us to see its condition. What size deck? They came with 48" and 60" decks. Any other attachments like a snowplow or snowblower? Wheel weights? Tiller? Snow-cab? Mike...........

WH nut 553 #9 Posted June 10, 2013 What you do is hang on to that one and get yourself something smaller like a 310-312. Keepthat one because you will decide you want a 520 anyway. Everyone does

AMC RULES 37,196 #15 Posted June 10, 2013 Wicked low hours...once detailed, that'll be a highly desirable tractor. I'm interesed in the bagging unit, if you decide to sell it seperate.

J.Henry 8 #17 Posted June 10, 2013 Thank you guys for the feedback. I will think about posting it on Craigslist. If I do end up selling it, and separate the bagging unit from the tractor I will let you know. Out of curiosity, if I decide to hang onto it how much maintenance do these tractors need? I know that they need the yearly oil change, air filter change... but is there anything else I should know about? Thanks again, J.H.

608KEB 796 #19 Posted June 10, 2013 How much was a new 1996 520-H with 48" mower deck/bagger $5000-$6000? It has really low hours. They are easy to maintain. Welcome to Red Square!
Jeff-C175 7,206 #20 Posted June 10, 2013 More tractor than you need? It will be the LAST tractor you need as opposed to you selling it for less than it's worth then going out and buying some p.o.s. from one of the big box stores that will last you what, maybe 5 years... if you're lucky... Keep it, you'll be making a big mistake if you sell it... just my opinion.
sned 15 #21 Posted June 10, 2013 J.Henry you basically inherited the cats pajamas of lawn tractors. They are worth any where from 1 to 2k depending on area and finding someone who knows what it is. These tractors are beefy enough to handle a front end loader.
DoctorHfuhruhurr 137 #22 Posted June 10, 2013 195 hours? KEEP IT, you'll regret selling it one day, that's a nice low hours machine.
546cowboy 302 #23 Posted June 10, 2013 Ditto on the keeping it.Everyone on here would love to have that tractor as evidenced by the comments above. If I could only have one tractor yours would be the 'Dream Tractor'. With the low hours it is a 'Dream Machine'
J.Henry 8 #24 Posted June 10, 2013 Thanks again everyone. I didn't realize the quality of the machine I lucked into. Looks like I am going to need to learn about what all this tractor can do so that I can take full advantage of it. Looks like I'm going to have to tell my wife I have a new hobby.
