C160 might need a stator and belts - Preferred place to buy parts??

Hey all,

Introduced myself last fall when I picked up my C160 and put her to work.  Pushed snow great and haven't had to work on her at all...until this weekend.  Looks like she isn't charging (and I doubt she ever has since I picked her up).  I'm only getting a few AC volts out of the stator wires.  Haven't pulled it yet to check magnets as I've just been leaving her on a trickle charger.  As luck would have it, I welded up some damage on the deck that came with her and tried mowing this weekend.  In higher grass the spindles would stop turning, so I continued to tighten the mule drive attempting to tighten the belt, make her cut better, etc.  Yep, the old deck belt broke shortly thereafter.

So, my question is this...My local vendor closed up shop and I'll be needing to buy some parts now and when I start to fix the old girl up.  I see Partstree.com referred to quite a bit, but I wanted to ask if there was a preferred or common online place that the WH addicts like to use for parts?

Sorry for the newbie question.  I'm VERY comfortable with things like this in the old Harley circles.  Old WH's, I'm in a learning mode.

Thanks everyone!

There are guys that only use Toro belts and those that use others such as Napa or gates. Not sure of the length you need but If you know the part number there is a lot of cross reference information.

_Might want to search stator information on this site. SOI and.other guys ate good with that electrical trouble shooting that is a bit more complicated. Used stators can be found.

Thanks Bob...I'll turn my research in that direction.  Appreciate the quick response!

Started to compare items on Partstree to SEPW...At least for every item I've compared the price at SEPW is better or the same as Partstree - and both are pretty expensive.  This is without looking at the shipping prices for each company though, so I want to be fair in my statement.  Looks like I'll use these places for the new parts I need if Napa and other places don't have them, but I'll watch fleabay and Craigslist for used parts...

I am not on my regular computer right now...I have a size chart for belts given the part number.  If you know the Wheelhorse part number try this from the Gates site.....put NAPA in the drop down......should give you a part number abd size...
